Graduation in Alaska

Friday: On Friday, May 2, I took the day off from work for a long weekend in Alaska. My little brother was about to graduate from the University of Alaska, and I wanted to go home to celebrate with the rest of my family! I had a great weekend, although it went by a little too fast.

Saturday:
On Saturday, my parents and I were headed home from Costco when we saw a moose on the side of the road... right in the middle of Anchorage! My dad slammed on the brakes and got in a turn lane so I could take the picture above. That night, my family and Adam's girlfriend, Leane, went to Simon & Seafort's for a delicious celebratory dinner! Here's a picture Leane took of our family:

Sunday: The next day was graduation. We all made it to the Sullivan Arena (after sitting in some terrible traffic!!) and saw Adam graduate. Everyone headed back to our house for some food, drinks, and lots of Wii playing!

Monday: I woke up early Monday morning and headed back to Denver. It was a fast trip, but I'll be back in July for a whole week!

Austin & San Antonio

On April 25, 2008, Amy and I flew to Austin to visit Kirstine! We had fun on Sixth Street and had a yummy lunch at Hula Hut on Saturday. Here we are enjoying the view of the lake at Hula Hut.

That day, the three of us drove to San Antonio (well... actually Devine -- a tiny town south of San Antonio) to visit Jen and see her new baby, Jameson! Unfortunately, I don't have any pictures of Jameson right now, but I'll post some soon. Melissa and Matt were already there (and James, of course). We spent the rest of our Saturday holding the baby (which I never quite mastered), eating guacamole, watching the boys play video games on two huge tvs in the living room, mixing Jen's "Fun Ship Drink of the Day", playing frisbee, and watching the movie Selena WAY too many times.
On Sunday, we all got ready and headed to the Riverwalk for a bbq lunch at The County Line. Afterward, we walked around and took Amy to the Alamo....
Here's Amy and me on the Riverwalk.Amy, Jen, and me:
The Alamo!

The trip went so fast, and before we knew it, it was time to go home. :(

Vegas!

On April 10, 2008, I flew to Las Vegas with my friend/co-worker/travel buddie/partner in crime, Amy. We stayed that night with her college friend, Perry. The next day, we went to the strip and checked into the Mirage.

We spent most of Friday and Saturday at the pool. We made some friends, got a nice tan, and didn't even mind spending $16 on a daquiri!

Friday night we went to Margaritaville and had our favorite nachos!! Afterward, we went back to the Mirage and danced at Club Revolution.

Before going back home, we had to spend a little time at the slots.

It was another fun Vegas trip!
