Baseball and Bobbleheads

Before moving to San Antonio in August, I managed to attend quite a few Rockies games during the spring and summer.  Every other Sunday was Bobblehead Day where the first several thousand people to enter the gates received a free bobblehead.  My dad happens to LOVE himself some bobbleheads, so we were always there... EARLY.

This is what Coors Field looks like when you're the first one in.  Pretty empty!

It was pretty great spending those Sundays with my family.  :)

Possibly my favorite part of going to the games is all the food....

The Monster Nachos are the best!
This chili dog was pretty awesome, too... (and it was enjoyed while waiting out some rain, as you can see by the tarp over the baseball diamond.)
Beautiful.
A dental practice is a sponsor of the Rockies, and at every game, they have a race between a toothbrush, toothpaste, and a tooth.  The guys trying to run in these costumes crack me up!
It wasn't uncommon that we'd hit up Bluebonnet Cafe on our way home from the games.  Yum!
I may live in Texas now, but I will always be a Rockies fan.  Go Rockies!!!

All Good Things Must Come to an End....

A few random pictures to wrap up our trip to Maui....

One day, my dad spotted a sailboat while we were sitting in the backyard of our house.  How pretty is that?!

Diana recommended that we eat at the Lahaina Fish Company.  She and her husband, Eric, had eaten there the night before, and they said it had good food and awesome views of the ocean.  It didn't disappoint!  My Ahi Tuna was really tasty... and HUGE!
The views were great, too.
My friend Jen coincidentally has a photographer-friend who lives in Maui.  We haven't had professional family photos taken since I was in middle school, so it was definitely time for new ones!

It was a little rainy the morning of our session.  We were worried that it would ruin our pictures, but the rain soon passed, and we were left with a double rainbow!  While Adam, Leane, and Charlie were taking pictures down on the beach, we snapped a few of our own.
This cute little gecko hung around our entry way the entire week!
One night, Adam and Leane attended a friend's wedding.  My parents and I had the pleasure of taking care of this little guy for the evening.
We had perfect weather for the majority of our trip.... that is, until tropical storm Flossie rolled in.  We didn't let her get us down, though!  We sat in the hot tub and relaxed for most of the afternoon while the rain fell.
Luckily, the next morning, a rainbow appeared, and Flossie was gone!

Our trip to Maui was honestly the best trip I've ever taken. The beauty, relaxation, awesome home, and time spent with each other made it the trip of a lifetime.  I can't wait to go back!

Maui Beach Time

I loved all of our time at the pool, but I think my favorite time was spent on the beach.
We went to the beach in Kaanapali our first day.  On our second day, we went to Kapalua Bay.  It was only about ten minutes from our house, and it soon became my favorite beach...
It was SO beautiful, and the water was really peaceful.  It was a great beach for kids and snorkelers since the surf was tame.
Grandma, me, and Charlie:

A little sand castle building....

I snorkeled for the first time in my life, and I loved it!  I was a little nervous about being in such deep water, but I got the hang of it.  That little dot down there is me!
I even shot some underwater video.  Sorry for the shakiness!!

Adam, Leane, and Charlie looked on from the beach.

After spending a couple days at Kapaulua Bay, we tried a third beach - D.T. Fleming Beach.  We read that this was a favorite beach for Maui locals (Maui-ites?  Mauiians?), so we figured it had to be great!
I really liked how empty it was.  For awhile, we had the beach practically to ourselves!

My attempt at being artsy.  :)
Everyone took a walk down the beach... and Charlie made friends with the birds.

What a cute photo-op!!
... Alllllllllmost as cute as this guy!

Mmm, Shave Ice!

We found THE BEST place for shave ice!  Ululani's was awesome!
Yummmm....

And the setting was pretty awesome, too......
